For the past couple of weeks, I've been talkingabout how the Culture Clash Collection is an ethnic blending of different cultures and aesthetics and I think the little top I want to show you today is a perfect example.  The Mimosa Rodeo tee is an unexpected mixing of the American West and the Far East.  It's Roy Rogers meets Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - classic rodeo styling like the:

  • pearl snap front,
  • western yokes,
  • and arrow-tipped smiley pockets
saddle nicely beside Eastern graphics like the:
  • Chinese dragon,
  • lucky lanterns,
  • and mimosa blossoms.
I think the vibrant colors and the unexpectedness of the Asian inspired graphics make this little rodeo shirt fresh and fun.  It also has great timing; perfectly on cue for rodeo season and for Chinese New Year.

Happy Chinese New Year, Y'all and Let'er Buck!

side note: In case you are wondering what the Chinese calligraphy means, here it is: (top to bottom)

  1. Jesus is LORD
  2. Play Nice Be Free

It is killing me that I cannot order one of these right now!! Love the look and the meaning of the calligraphy! Especially #1 Jesus is Lord! Will be putting this on my agenda to order!
I have been a fan of Double D from the onset! Grew up in Cuero just down the road from you guys!! And I am researching the outfit to wear this year for the NFR awards banquet in Las Vegas this year. Double D is at the top of my shopping list! Keep up the good work girls!!

I love her hair in the first photo! The shirt is very fun…would be fun to wear to a rodeo tomorrow for the Chinese New Year. if there is such a thing happening somewhere tomorrow. Also, a side note sorta in keeping with your Culture Clash collection: my hubby and I have started a new experimental cuisine we call Asia-Mex where we blend the 2 cultures in our dinners. Think guacamole made with edamame and avocado. Or soy sauce and chipotle peppers. Yummy. Now I’m realizing I need to be wearing one of these tees while eating these meals…very Asia-(Tex)Mex!
